Chris Attoh (born Christopher Keith Nii Attoh; May 17, 1974) is a Ghanaian actor, on-air personality, television presenter and producer. He is best known as “Kwame Mensah” in the Nigerian soap opera Tinsel. He attended Achimota School and Accra Academy for his O’level and A’Level respectively. He then went on to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to study painting. He also studied Banking and security in the UK later on.
His degree in banking and security has no doubt enabled him to be a rather effective hand at investing. So, besides his acting and MC chops, Chris Attoh is also the CEO of A Factory Limited, a media and television development company with headquarters in Dzorwulu Accra.
Chris Attoh is an established actor, filmmaker, TV host and MC. His passion for showbiz led to his work on Ghana’s top radio stations as a radio presenter and as a television broadcaster for the majority of Ghana’s biggest broadcasting platforms.
Chris Attoh’s acting career began after he starred in the TV show Choices. He, however, shot up in popularity after his stint on the set of Tinsel as Kwame Mensah, the often-underhanded younger brother of Brenda Mensah. He delivered a powerful cum detestable, performance every time he appeared on the show and soon secured fans all around Africa.
He’s to make another such promising appearance on a TV show in MTV’s Shuga which focuses on spreading awareness of HIV/AIDs in Africa. When MTV Shuga came to Nigeria and Ghana for season 3 and 4, his character on the show, Nii, was an immediate hit as a manipulative woman beater, who appeared as a simple, intelligent man to the outside world
He has also featured in numerous big budget or other more modest movies inclusive of, ‘Flower Girl’, ‘Be My Guest’, ‘Single and Married’, ‘Oxford Garden’ and many others.
Chris Attoh was a nominee for AMVC Awards 2014, he won the Mode Men Actor of the year 2012 and NEA Pan African Actor of the year 2011. He has become a celebrated household name in many parts of the world with almost 15 years’ experience under his belt.

Chris Attoh has two ex-wives, he was previously married to former Tinsel and Flower Girl co-star, Damilola Adegbite, but was reported to be divorced in September 2017, and together, they have a son. Their courtship (which was mostly private and well-hidden), public engagement and wedding were befitting of stars, as big as the two have come to be. He proposed to her on a boat cruise in Manhattan, NYC in August 2014. The duo wedded on February 14, Valentine’s Day at La Villa Boutique Hotel Accra. He re-married on Saturday 6 October 2018 to Bettie Jennifer, a US-based businesswoman at a private ceremony in Accra. Bettie was shot dead on May 11, 2019, while leaving her office in Maryland in the US after work.
Chris Attoh was rumoured to be behind the death of Bettie initially but investigations revealed that Bettie’s ex-husband, who was a drug lord masterminded the attack.
