His green dreadlocks have been one of his signatures and some of his loyal fans have come to not only live with his green style but also replicated it somehow.

In this post, we talk about the biography of Zlatan Ibile and everything you should know.

Zlatan Ibile Biography

Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael (born 19 December 1994), known professionally as Zlatan Ibile, is a popular Nigerian singer, songwriter, and dancer born in Lagos State. He is a graduate of Business Administration from the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY). In 2014, he won the Airtel One Mic talent show held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Zlatan was born and raised in Lagos but has family roots in Ekiti State. Zlatan decided to pursue a career in music after graduating high school. When he was 19 years old, he won Airtel’s “One Mic Campus Tour” music competition, held in Abeokuta, Ogun State. He gained recognition in the Nigerian music industry after releasing the Olamide-assisted “My Body” in 2017. The song gained traction after a video of Davido dancing to it surfaced online. That also marked the beginning of his friendship with Davido.

During an interview with Goldmyne TV, Zlatan Ibile admitted he never thought of doing music until he started walking his friends to the studio when he had nothing to do at home. He stated;

“I started music when I finished SSCE in 2011. While waiting for admission, I started following my friends to the studio and I got influenced. But I was a church boy, I played drums and I had a knowledge of music.

At the point when my companions said they needed me to be a piece of a tune, I concurred. It was a rap melody and individuals cherished my part.”

Zlatan gained further exposure following his collaboration with Chinko Ekun and Lil Kesh on the 2018 hit single “Able God”. Shortly afterward, he dropped “Zanku”, a song that was accompanied by a dance routine of the same name. Towards the end of 2018, Zlatan released the Davido-assisted “Osanle”.  In early 2019, he released “Glory” before being featured on Burna Boy’s “Killin Dem”, a track from the latter’s fourth studio album African Giant. Shortly afterward, he was featured on Ceeza Milli’s “Flenjo” and Naira Marley’s “Am I a Yahoo Boy”. On 26 July 2019, Zlatan announced that he signed an endorsement deal with Coca-Cola.

Zlatan Ibile Biography – Segun Wire Controversy

If you are familiar with the Nigerian music industry, then you must have heard about Segun Wire and Zlatan.

The singer helped the young internet sensation, Segun Wire, but had to withdraw his support for him after hoodlums related to Segun Wire’s family attacked him because they are of the opinion that he was using Segun Wire to make money for himself alone and not caring about the little boy’s welfare.

The controversy started when Zlatan Ibile took charge of the internet sensation named Segun Wire with the pure intention to help him grow but things took the wrong turn and he had to forget about the pursuit. Zlatan Ibile saw raw talent in the young kid and decided to breed him into maturity, but his family members were not in full support of it. Zlatan explained it all in an interview with Punch NG, he said;

“I don’t have much to say about the issue again because I have done what I needed to do. I have withdrawn my support.  I just wanted to help him, but my image was tarnished. I withdrew because I just felt it is high time I lived my own life. I am still a young boy; I have younger ones and parents too that need help. I have yet to get to where I want to be; so, I just want to focus on myself for now.”

Zlatan Ibile Girlfriend

Zlatan Ibile’s girlfriend is Seyi Awonuga, who is the young CEO of Bang Mewsic Entertainment. She supposedly was the one who signed Zlatan into her record label and she was there with him all through the time till he became a sensation.

Seyi Awonuga was spotted in a video begging the EFCC to release her boyfriend, Zlatan, after his arrest alongside Naira Marley when the duo were arrested by the anti-graft agency.
